		2256 Reads Well finally my Sigma 70-200 is here... long wait but it seems well worth it... Now some things I have read on the web make more sense... many complained of the lens being soft wide open... I have not conclusively tested how sharp mine is, but it is not soft... I think a lot of people's misconception comes from the very very narrow DOF you get at 200mm f/2.8... when you are shooting at the closest focusing distance you seriously only have a few cm of DOF... Also at 200mm you should, unless you have lots of light or are shooting high ISO, use support... I'm picking up a plate for the foot this weekend :) The focus is as fast as my Nikkor 18-70DX AF-S, which is impressive as there is a lot of glass to move around in this lens... My sample I picked up from HK-Supplies is in flawless condition (occasionally people report some internal dust from some outlets) The finish is great and the tripod collar is high quality and a great design.. the one thing I dont like, which I think sigma really need to pay some thought to, is the cheap crappy lens cap... I think I will be sourcing a Nikon one soon.. 216 More words

		2031 Reads Well it is tax time, and thanks to my over paying of tax I am due for a small refund! time to feed the lens lust. I am looking almost solely at the Sigma 70-200 EX lens... It is very hard to go past this lens on paper, at less than the nikon mechnaically driven 80-200 this lens has a ultrasonic motor, meaning near instant AF. Looking at review sites on the web it looks like they have all been written by sigma, all VERY positive! My main concern is with the Boke (Bokeh). The Nikkor 80-200 and 70-200VR are legendary for the lovely way they render out of focus elements, and that is a big draw card for me. Now its just time to wait on the tax office :) 131 More words

		1747 Reads Yikes, rumours are ripe of this camera which, for now, is only vaporware (geek speak for a rumored cam...) Digital photo blog has a neat looking picture which I am tempted to steal but can not afford the law suit... but it mentions a 12.4 MP cmos sensor (sony I presume) and woo hoo! Still DX format! SO a few questions: Will it have built in flash like other semi-pro models (d70, d100) or not (like d2x) Will it have Mirror lockup? 87 More words
